Dear AWC Members—
It’s hard to believe that we are in our final month of the AWC year! There are lots of club activities planned for June, so we hope to see you at our Luncheon, Breakfast Club, Movie Night, Book Club, Family Picnic, or special events such as the NASA chat.
My year as President of the AWC has been a great experience for me, and I want to give a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported the club and helped me to do my part. The American Women’s Club of Seville is a wonderful group of women who offer each other knowledge, friendship, advice, and support, and are a constant source of ideas and encouragement. Thanks to all of you—and to those who keep us in touch with each other through our website, newsletter, invitations, email and WhatsApp!
This year’s social and cultural events have been a great way to learn more about Seville and get to know each other—we appreciate all the research and planning that go into organizing these AWC activities! The club also provides support for our community through our AWC charities, and we are grateful for the members who organize the activities and events to raise money for this important work. Thank you for all the time and energy put in by our dedicated board and committee leaders, and for the support of all of you at our club events! Thank you all!
Some of us are leaving Sevilla or traveling this summer; others will be in town and carrying on with individual group activities (adjusted for the hot weather!) However you spend your summer, mark your calendars for AWC Coffee Morning on Saturday, September 28, when we kick off our new AWC season! See you then!
AWC Seville President
The three pillars of the American Women’s Club are:
• Social…..meeting other English-speaking women and joining each other for coffee, tapas, monthly luncheons, kids’ groups, plus many more activities. If you are new to the city, come and pick our brains, we have a fund of knowledge of Sevilla among us!
• Cultural…..join us for concerts of all varieties, visit museums and heritage sites, borrow books from our excellent Library, join the Book Club, Movie Night, Games Nights, etc. etc…
• Charitable…..help us give back to the city that has given us so much pleasure. We support a couple of local charities: Sonrisa de un Nino supports poor children and their families, and El Pozo Santo gives shelter to the elderly. We raise funds by having Mince Pie events, home-made cake and coffee mornings, our very successful Christmas raffle, and other events….have you any ideas? We would love to hear from you.
Visitors, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org—we would love to have you join us!
