Dear AWC Members—
After the AWC’s Thanksgiving Luncheon, I’m feeling full and particularly thankful!
I’m especially grateful for all the great women who have contributed so much to the club all year—a big thank you to Anne Sedman and the Charity Committee, whose efforts on behalf of the AWC Charities ensure our continued support for La Sonrisa de un Niño and El Pozo Santo. The Mulled Wine gathering was a great way to kick off the spirit of holiday giving!
Thanks to Carolina Rodriguez and Mary Fasal for setting up the lovely Thanksgiving dinner, as well as the other AWC luncheons we enjoy every month. And many, many thanks to our other activity coordinators, who are always hard at work planning walks, breakfast get-togethers, and weekend picnics; evenings to enjoy craft beer, films, or games; and cultural visits of all kinds. We hope you will look over our calendar of events and take advantage of some of these opportunities that our members are always working to provide!
We are also grateful for our hardworking members who handle our club communications, via email, WhatsApp, Facebook, and the website, as well as our board members who keep it all coordinated.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our annual AWC Christmas party on December 13th, and the kids’ Christmas party on the 15th. May all of our members are enjoy a wonderful holiday season, and have a very happy New Year 2020!
AWC Seville President
The three pillars of the American Women’s Club are:
• Social…..meeting other English-speaking women and joining each other for coffee, tapas, monthly luncheons, kids’ groups, plus many more activities. If you are new to the city, come and pick our brains, we have a fund of knowledge of Sevilla among us!
• Cultural…..join us for concerts of all varieties, visit museums and heritage sites, borrow books from our excellent Library, join the Book Club, Movie Night, Games Nights, etc. etc…
• Charitable…..help us give back to the city that has given us so much pleasure. We support a couple of local charities: Sonrisa de un Nino supports poor children and their families, and El Pozo Santo gives shelter to the elderly. We raise funds by having Mince Pie events, home-made cake and coffee mornings, our very successful Christmas raffle, and other events….have you any ideas? We would love to hear from you.
Visitors, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org—we would love to have you join us!
